4 Simple Questions to Delve Deeper into Who You Are
Hopefully insights are abounding from the “I AM” exercise. We’re going to take it a step further. (If you missed the “I AM” go to my blog dated 11/11/15). Maybe do that first and then come back and do this one. Have fun with it. Smile - it’s all about you.
Begin with a clean piece of paper–8 ½” X 11” is a good size. List the next four questions leaving space for the answers. If you know yourself to be long winded leave a few inches of space beneath each query. Use the front and back of the page if need be. The next part of this archeological dig into yourself are these four questions:
1. If you were a car what would you be and why?
2. If you were a restaurant, what type would you choose and what about this restaurant says something about you?
3. If you were a store, what would you be and why. What about the store has value to you?
4. If you were an animal, what would you be? What about this animal is like you? If you are not familiar with the animal that came to your consciousness first, research it. What traits might that animal have that you have or would like to have. What about that being is like you? Look into the deeper and underlying meanings of this animal, even if you think you are familiar with it.
Have fun with this. Again, any surprises. Do you see a pattern in these? For example one of the women who did this discovered that her car, the restaurant and the store were all related to family and making people comfortable. Another man was very creative and saw that he displayed this creativity in his choices. Another idea is to have members of your family, friends, co-workers answer these four little questions. It’s interesting to see the similarities and to acknowledge the differences and gain the insights into the other people in your life. All you have to gain is better relationships all around. Imagine that!
